L: congratulations to the ShawNee Evergreen Board for your incredible work on your beautiful new playground! It was my honour to assist with fundraising & lend a hand during construction; but it was the board & volunteers who really made it happen!
R: thank you to all of the 300 guests & volunteers who joined us at our Annual MLA Picnic in Fish Creek Park: it was a great pleasure to connect with every one of you personally! Special thanks to Spolumbo’s for helping to make this a huge success!

Marshall Springs Evergreen Middle School was on track; is now delayed
I am disappointed that a delay has been announced for Marshall Springs Middle School in Evergreen. The Calgary Board of Education, which asked to take responsibility to build the school, now expects completion in March 2017; with the occupation date yet to be determined. In a statement, the CBE attributed this to a need to redesign the project to accommodate the school site, as well as the first tenders coming in unsatisfactory and over-budget. I remain a strong advocate for Marshall Springs and will keep you updated on any further changes.
The news that one-third of Alberta’s school projects have been delayed was very upsetting to our PC Caucus. All projects were on schedule and fully funded when we were serving in government; & we are looking forward to the Auditor General’s review—so light can be shed regarding how things could have changed so drastically in such a short amount of time.

Local advocacy is always on my mind! The two capital projects that Calgary-Lougheed constituents tell me they want to see completed as soon as possible are the Evergreen Middle School and the South West Calgary Ring Road. I take every opportunity to remind the new NDP government of the importance of these projects; and will not be satisfied until they are completed!
