“Our caucus is pleased to see the Trans Mountain expansion continue to take another step forward with today’s approval from the British Columbia government. The Trans Mountain pipeline will benefit both Alberta and Canada's economy and our caucus wholeheartedly supports building this project.
It is concerning to see Premier Notley’s political cousins so strongly against supporting jobs and families in their province as well as in Alberta. The BC NDP has been extremely vocal against getting our product to tidewater. Premier Notley has a long ways to go to get those with an NDP worldview to start supporting what’s best for our whole country.
Today, Premier Notley also spoke in favour of British Columbia’s decision to protect their environment while ensuring they keep their economy moving forward. However, it's unfortunate the Premier doesn’t follow through on that sentiment here at home. The NDP carbon tax continues to drive down investor confidence to new lows and kills jobs in our energy sector. The Premier promised that the carbon tax would get us 'social license' and it's clear she doesn't yet have that social license to begin construction.”
