“While we are relieved to hear that Alberta’s case will be heard by the court, it’s clear that the NDP’s climate policies have failed to secure so-called ‘social license’ as promised. Radical environmentalists – including the Alberta Government’s fellow partisans in the B.C. NDP as well as members of the Government’s own Oil Sands Advisory Group – continue to work to block the critical TransMountain pipeline project.
“The NDP promised that its job-killing carbon tax on Albertans would pave the way for pipeline construction. Instead, they have driven jobs and investment out of Alberta and taken billions out of the pockets of hardworking Alberta families. Today, tens of thousands of Albertans remain unemployed and we are sadly no closer to seeing a new pipeline pump Canadian oil to the west coast.
“This NDP government should stop trying to appease eco-warriors that have no intention of ending their anti-oil, anti-Alberta crusade – including those advisors within their own government. We’ve already seen that paper regulatory approval means little to these radicals. The Government must end its naïve wishful thinking and press for the full application of the rule of law.
