“Alberta’s economy will be crippled with the decision by the NDP and Green parties in B.C. to block construction of the Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain pipeline expansion should they successfully form government.
Breaking Alberta’s land lock and gaining pipeline access to tidewater off the West coast is in the best interests of all Canadians. We fail to see the logic that would prompt these two leaders to reject the creation of thousands of jobs in Alberta and B.C. and improve economic outcomes not only in their province but across the country. John Horgan and Andrew Weaver’s position on this issue is both selfish and short sighted.
Today’s news also serves to highlight the complete and total failure of Rachel Notley’s NDP government to obtain so-called social license for pipeline projects. Albertans were sold a bill of goods when this government introduced its damaging suite of climate policies, including the job-killing carbon tax, which have done nothing other than make life more expensive and more difficult for everyday Albertans. We urge this government to finally start putting Albertans first and use every tool at their disposal to get this pipeline built.”
