“Today marks National Aboriginal Day, an important date when we honour the immeasurable contributions of First Nations, Metis and Inuit cultures to our entire country.
Recognizing the important influence Indigenous peoples have had in our province and country should happen every day of the year, not solely on one recognized day. On behalf of the PC Caucus, it is an honour to acknowledge the unique heritage and significant achievements of First Nations, Metis and Inuit peoples throughout Alberta’s history.
And while we must remember to acknowledge how Indigenous peoples have helped build Alberta into the great province it is today, we must also look forward toward renewing and reconciling important relationships. As the Progressive Conservative Advocate for Indigenous Relations, I know the PC Caucus remains committed to working with Indigenous individuals and all levels of government to build partnerships based on mutual trust and friendship.”
