“Every day, millions of Albertans head off to work to earn a living and perform the jobs that keep our province, and our economy, moving forward. Whether their workplace is an office tower, a construction site or the open road, these Albertans have the right to expect that they will return home safely at the end of each day. Tragically, last year 125 of these workers did not make it home to their families, including our own Manmeet Bhullar, who was killed in a motor vehicle accident on the QE2 highway on his way to work at the Alberta Legislature. Many more Albertans were injured on the job, sometimes resulting in permanent disabilities.
The Progressive Conservative caucus today remembers those whose lives were lost or permanently altered as a result of workplace incidents. We pledge to work with our colleagues in government, along with stakeholders, employers and workers to ensure all Albertans remain safe on the job.”
